Brooke and Hayden
The love story that became my 200th.
These two are a part of what I like to call the swipe right dynasty.
Completing their Wed by Jade Love Story Questionnaires separately, they told me they found each other the way many do these days, online.
Hayden was adamant that it was his stellar ‘I caught a fish’ pose that caught Brooke’s online eye, but Brooke never mentioned it. She did, however, say their online chat was filled with plenty of talk about them and boats, things she had no idea about.
Their ocean adventure chats led them to meet IRL.
Hayden told me he planned everything perfectly, right down to timing the night to start with dinner during sunset, oooft, romantic! And it was. Brooke agreed it was lovely, but she also shared that not only did Hayden arrive wearing a pair of bright blue board shorts, he also paid for the date using a discount voucher, something Hayden told me was both gentlemanly and smart.
All jokes aside (and with a promise that those boardies would never reappear), Brooke and Hayden hit it off.
Brooke saw something in Hayden. He was kind, sweet, and genuinely thoughtful. Sure, she was still cautiously unsure, but she was curious too. Hayden, on the other hand? No doubts whatsoever, he was all in, he just had to prove it to her.
With patience, kindness, and persistence, he did. One night, over a home cooked meal and hours of deep conversation, Brooke realised this was love. She had fallen and was all in too.
So in Feb 2025, we made it forever…
I was booked to do the hitching and MC their reception and I was STOKED, and after quickly realising they would be my 200th couple, I reached out and told them. They were both so excited by the news and agreed to allow me a little moment with them to celebrate. So… I got a cake. And while they were enjoying some sunset pics with Kirrally from Wild Wattle Photography, they graciously allowed me to share the moment with them and we practiced cutting their cake with mine from Cupcake Espresso.
Thank you Mr & Mrs McKinnon
I’m beyond appreciative that you allowed me to share that moment with you. It can feel a little self-indulgent, but I hope you enjoyed it just as much as I did. Spending my 200th with you and your guests was a dream. We were on the beach (my favourite place), and even your guests were so happy for me! That is a testament to just how wonderful you both are and the people who surround you.
